As soon as the link is established the two become a new Super computer and threaten the world with the immediate launch of nuclear weapons if they are detached. Colossus begins to give it's plans for the management of the world under it's guidance. Forbin and the other scientists form a technological resistance to Colossus which must operate underground.
My Rating:
My Review: A movie who's time has come again. They really should do a remake of this 1970 film. It's so pertinent in today's society. As we rush head-long towards autonomous weapons and AI computers, we really should think about what's in store. Here's a dark Sci-Fi thriller with a message from the past for the future. In a misguided belief that dispassionate, logical, reasoning - artificial intelligence - will prevent war, the US government turns over control of its nuclear missiles to a supercomputer. It’s a doomsday trigger under computer control. We will not be blackmailed by socio-political concerns, our response to threats of war will be completely logical and unmoderated by willful and fallible humans. What the computer does next is something the creators never imagined. Screenplay and direction by Joseph Sargent (Credited (per IMDB) with 93 director credits during his career. Mostly television episodes, but also a smattering of Espionage, War and Thriller movies). The movie is based on one of a trilogy of books by D.F. (Dennis Feltham) Jones. The movie stars Eric Braeden, Susan Clark, Gordon Pinsent and many others. It's a dark, cautionary tale of mans hubris and technological advancement. Without spoiling the movie, I can tell you that it's a cold war thriller that pits the United States against the Soviet Union. The stakes are thermonuclear war, but humans don't get to call the shots. These words spoken to mankind by the 'Supercomputer' may interest you: "This is the voice of world control. I bring you peace. It may be the peace of plenty and content. Or the peace of unburied death. The choice is yours. Obey me and live, or disobey and die". A fantastic, thrilling and totally believable movie, given todays AI developments. An underrated Sci-Fi gem that must be seen. The only problem I had with the film was the ending, which kind of sucked. After a bit of research, it appears that there might be a remake on the way. I give this movie a 4 out of 5.

Summary: A high school teacher in the 60s becomes an international spy and becomes involved in a plot to overthrow Fidel Castro.
My Rating:
My Review: I own this little gem. I have no idea how I found this movie, but I love it. Poor ratings at IMDB asside, this original movie had a fantastic cast - Douglas McGrath, Sigourney Weaver, John Turturro, Anthony LaPaglia, Ryan Phillippe, Denis Leary, Woody Allen, Alan Cumming, Paul Guilfoyle and others. The story is a clever, historical farce. A 'Man who knew too much' spoof. Allen Quimp (Douglas McGrath) is a driver's ed' teacher at a 1960's high school. In an effort to confound his nagging wife and inlaws, he tells them that he's secretly a CIA agent! With that little white lie, Quimp soon ends up involved in a twisted plot of CIA involvement in Cuba's Bay of Pigs invasion. As this grammar stickler tries to play his hand at international espionage, we're treated to a preposterous 'What If' spoof. The script is very clever, and the dialog is full of tightly constructed inside jokes for history buffs. If you're ready for a laugh, you can't miss with this laughable look at international espionage.

My Rating:
My Review: Pure Sword & Sorcery. Non-political Schwarzenegger. A great movie with great lines and no complicated plots. It's all about revenge - They killed his parents, his entire tribe, burned down his village, and enslaved all the children. Did they really think he'd just forget about it? "Conan, what is best in life? To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women!" Imortal leaders of a snakc cult reap what they have sown. Great casting. James Earl Jones as Thulsa Doom was an unmistakable stroke of genius. A genre defining movie. This one gets 5 of 5.

Along the way, Conan reunites with the wise wizard, Akiro and befriends the fierce female fighter, Zula. Together the heroes face ancient traps, powerful Wizards, plots of betrayal, and even the dream god, Dagoth, himself!
My Rating:
My Review: Crap. Nowhere near as good as the first movie. Lacking in acting, writing, directing and special effects. This movie was the reason there were no more Conan movies. It sucked, and sucked badly. Played more for laughs than drama, the format change was a big mistake. The new thief wasn't as good as the original, and the acting and directing were very poor. The only good part of the movie is when Conan jumps on the back of the 'sleeping god', and pulls out its horn. That and Grace Jones in a thong. Just terrible. This one gets a 2 out of 5. No wonder it's packaged with Conan the Barbarian. No one would buy it otherwise.
